How Paying by Cabcharge Works
Book the trip the normal way, online or by phone, and pick Cabcharge as the payment option on the booking form so the driver knows before arriving. Nothing is charged when you book.
At the end of the trip the fare is paid with your Cabcharge card, digital pass or eTicket in the car. The docket goes to whoever issued the Cabcharge, so there is nothing to claim back and no receipt to keep.
Who Uses Cabcharge
- Staff travelling on a company account, to meetings, client sites and the airport.
- Passengers whose travel is funded by an insurer or a scheme and issued as an eTicket.
- Hotels, hospitals and clinics sending a guest or patient home on their own account.
- Anyone handed a Cabcharge eTicket for a single trip by the organisation paying for it.
Cabcharge to Melbourne Airport
A Cabcharge airport run is priced exactly like any other: the metered fare, the toll where the route uses it, and the $5.26 airport fee on a pickup from the terminal. All of it goes on the one Cabcharge payment, and the fare calculator on this page shows an estimate before you book.
Setting Up an Account Instead
If your business books us regularly and would rather not run Cabcharge at all, we can bill trips to an account and send one invoice. Call 0449 076 826 to set it up.
